More Than What Happened: The Aftermath of Gun Violence is an anthology of voices in Miami, Florida speaking to their experiences of
the contemporary plague that is gun violence in America.

In poems, photographs, interviews, portraits, illustrations, and one sermon, Miamians talk about how they survive, grieve, and process the loss of children, parents, and friends. This book is the story of how people love each other; how communities heal and form support groups with little resources; and how school-age kids are impacted by gun violence.

The Miami Trilogy

“The Miami Trilogy,” a publishing initiative created by O, Miami documents the present moment in Miami. Each book in the trilogy is an anthology of South Florida voices curated by a Miami-based editor and organized around a topic crucial to the survival of our community. The trilogy is made possible through a challenge grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
